Many outcome measurement tools were designed for an acute or inpatient settings and are not sensitive enough to pick up the small and specific changes that we see in many adults living with chronic dysphagia.

About the Presenter:
Chantelle Hutchinson is a speech pathologist and casual academic with 15 years experience working with adults with acquired neurological conditions and developmental disabilities.
Although Chantelle has been working with adults with dysphagia since the start of her career, she developed a special interest in dysphagia six years ago when she was involved in multiple dysphagia quality projects including launching a community led VFSS service, developing a dysphagia training package, starting a dysphagia clinic.
Chantelle has certification in the Dysphagia Disorders Survey (DDS), the McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program (MDTP) and has completed a 12-day intensive dysphagia course in 2023, led by Maggie-Lee Huckabee.
Chantelle is the Founder of Dysphagia Bites which offers dysphagia courses & education for SLPs, particularly those working in home, community, outpatient and aged care settings.
She is also the host of the Dysphagia Research Bites podcast.
